Take your store live

A new store starts in test mode: its orders are paid with test cards, no money moves and nothing is paid out. Coritan sells each order as merchant of record, so it reviews who is selling before the store takes real orders. You describe the business in the Merchant profile, submit it for review, and once Coritan approves it, staff take the store live when you ask.

• You need the Admin or Owner role. Other members see only where the review stands, because the profile holds the owners' identities.
• Have the business's legal details, its addresses and its owners' names to hand.

The profile starts with the details the organization's legal details held when commerce was turned on: the legal and trading names, the registration number, the tax ID, the country and the support email. Later changes to those settings do not reach the profile, so check each field.

1. In the dashboard, open the organization, then Commerce, then Settings. The Merchant profile card comes first until the store is live.
2. Select Edit profile….
3. Under Business, enter the Legal name, choose the Country of registration and enter a Support email. The Trading name, Legal form, Registration number, Tax ID, Website and Support phone are optional. A website starts with https://.
4. Under What you sell, say in Description what the store sells and to whom, in up to 5,000 characters. Categories (up to 20, separated by commas) and Expected sales a month are optional.
5. Enter the Registered address. Under Ships from, tick The registered address when you ship from there, or enter the address. Under Returns go to, tick Where you ship from, or enter the address.
6. Under Beneficial owners, select Add an owner for each person who owns or controls a quarter or more of the business, up to 10. Each owner needs a Full name. Date of birth, Country and Ownership are optional.
7. Select Save profile.

Review needs all of these. An address counts once it has a street, a city and a country.

• the legal name, the country of registration and a support email
• the description of what you sell
• the registered address, the address you ship from and the address returns go to
• at least one beneficial owner

Until they are all there, the card says Not submitted yet and lists what to add. Then it says Ready to submit.

1. Select Submit for review….
2. Select Submit for review to confirm.

You can still edit the profile while Coritan reviews it, but saving a change returns it to a draft, and you then submit it again.

The profile's status is Submitted, and the card says Coritan is reviewing it with the date you sent it. Staff then decide, and the card shows the outcome:

An approved or suspended profile is locked. To change it, select Open a ticket on the card and ask support.

Staff move the store from test mode to live, and only once the merchant profile is approved. When it is approved, select Open a ticket on the card, or on the test mode alert in Overview, and ask for it.

Once the store is live:

• the header's badge reads Live, and Overview counts live orders
• the storefront takes real payments, and publishable keys in live mode start to work (until then the Store API refuses them with store_not_live)
• payouts start, since they are held until the profile is approved

Create a live key in Settings before you ask, so the storefront can switch to it at once.

Once Coritan has reviewed the profile, its Terms show what Coritan keeps and when your money becomes payable. Coritan sets them at review; open a ticket to talk about them.

Commission

The share of each sale Coritan keeps, as a percentage. A fixed amount can be added, taken only on sales in its currency.

Reserve

A percentage of each sale held back for a number of days, or None.

Sales become payable

How many days after the order a sale becomes payable, or at delivery if that is sooner.

Statement descriptor

The text added to the charge on shoppers' card statements.

Submit for review… cannot be selected

Review still needs something. The Not submitted yet alert and the button's tooltip list it.

Payouts are held

Coritan pays out only once it approves the merchant profile. Sales still add to the balance in the meantime.

The Merchant profile card shows only dates

Your role is below Admin. The owner or an admin manages the profile.

• Run your store from the Commerce tab
• Change your store's settings
• Track your store's balance and payouts

Read the profile with GET https://api.coritan.com/api/v1/orgs/{org_slug}/commerce/merchant-profile, change it with PUT, and submit it with POST .../merchant-profile/submit. The answer lists missing_for_submission, the fields review still needs. Submit the merchant profile has the steps. All three take the token of an owner or admin; an organization API key cannot use them.
