Run your store from the Commerce tab

Run your organization's store in the dashboard, from orders and returns to products, stock, shipping, payouts, disputes, taxes and settings.

The Commerce tab is where your organization runs its store for goods. Coritan is the store's merchant of record: a Coritan company sells each order, takes the payment and accounts for the tax, and your balance records your part of each sale. The tab shows the orders coming in, what the store sells, the money it is owed and how it is set up.

  • Your organization needs a store. Ask support to turn commerce on. Staff create the store in test mode, with one sales channel called Web store.
  • Every member of the organization can open the tab. Your role decides which sections you see and what you can change, as Who can do what shows.
  • The store takes real orders only after Coritan approves its merchant profile. Take your store live explains the review.

The tab sits between Billing and Cloud Compute in the organization's tabs, and opens on Overview. Here its sections are grouped by the work they are for.

Getting started:

Day to day:

  • Orders: ship, refund and cancel what the storefront sold.
  • Returns: answer returns, exchanges and claims.
  • Customers: look up shoppers and their orders, and keep notes on them.

What the store sells:

  • Products: the catalogue, with variants, prices and images.
  • Inventory: stock counts and the places stock is kept.
  • Discounts: promotions, discount codes and gift cards.
  • Imports: bring products over from Shopify.

Money:

  • Payouts: the balance, the payouts and the ledger.
  • Disputes: answer chargebacks before their deadline.
  • Taxes: the tax Coritan charged on your sales.

Setup:

  • Settings: the store, checkout, returns, publishable keys and sales channels.
  • Shipping: regions, shipping zones, options and profiles.
  • Fulfilment providers: send orders to a warehouse that packs and ships them.

The header shows the store's name, its status and the currencies it sells in. Open storefront opens the storefront when the store has an address for it. Until the merchant profile is approved, the header also shows the profile's status.

Status What you see What it means
Test mode The Test mode badge Orders are test orders, paid with test cards. No money moves and nothing is paid out.
Live A Live badge The storefront takes real orders, and your balance is paid out.
Suspended An alert that staff suspended the store, with Open a ticket The storefront takes no orders, and payouts are held until staff lift the suspension. Open a ticket to find out why.
Disabled An alert that commerce is turned off for the store Staff turned the store off. The storefront takes no orders, and the tab shows only its header until staff turn it back on.

Overview shows what needs the store's attention. While the store is in test mode, an alert at the top says so. It offers Open Settings until the merchant profile is approved, and Open a ticket once it is, so that staff can take the store live.

Each tile counts a queue and opens its list already filtered:

Tile What it counts
To fulfil Paid orders with nothing sent yet.
Held for review Orders held because their payment looked risky. Release or cancel each one.
Returns to answer Returns that shoppers asked for. The tile also links the returns that came back and are waiting for a refund.
Disputes to answer Disputes waiting for your response, with the next deadline.

The two order tiles count test orders while the store is in test mode, and live orders once it is live. Under the tiles:

  • Recent orders lists the five newest orders, live and test. Open Orders opens the full list.
  • Balance shows what is payable now in each currency. It counts live sales only.
  • Store shows the settings the header does not: the languages, the sales channels, guest checkout, the return window, the payout schedule and the support email.

Each role can do everything the roles below it can, as Organization roles and permissions explains. Admin and Owner have the same rights here. The table gives the lowest role for each section.

A section your role cannot open says who it is for. A section you can open but not change says that its tables are read-only for you.

  • Each list keeps its filters in the page address. A reload or a shared link opens the list as it was, and a record's back link returns to the list you left.
  • Each record opens on a page of its own, so you can bookmark or share an order, a return or a payout.
  • An action that moves money or cannot be undone asks you to type a word to continue: the amount, the order number or the record's name.
  • Records made in test mode carry a Test badge wherever they are listed.

Coritan keeps a commission on each sale and can hold back a reserve for a time. Both are set when Coritan reviews your merchant profile, and appear under Terms in it. Track your store's balance and payouts explains how the rest reaches you.

The Commerce tab is missing
The organization has no store, or the dashboard could not reach it. Reload the page. If the tab is still missing, ask support to turn commerce on. A link to the tab in an organization without a store opens its Overview tab instead.
A section says it is not available
Its part of the dashboard did not load. Select Try again, or reload the page after an update.
